| SO, its been a while. Things are going just swimmingly! Thought I would get on and share how AMAZING life in Austin, Texas is! I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Things I do for fun:
The Broken Spoke, Location of last Thursday's fun. This is the oldest and most historic dancehall in Austin and is a great little dive to get a taste of yet something else that helps Keep Austin Weird!

I am interning at the coolest production studio ever! Here are some small shots of my office (which is awesome)....have a quick tour!: - This is everything from the conference room that is set up with satelite conferencing abilities (photo2), - The edit suites where the films and commercials are edited together are themed with South Pacific and Fantasia decorations (photos 3&4): - The production studios and edit rooms where things are filmed. We have the capabilities to do world wide live shots and edit on the go. This was done in the early 90s in our Dallas studio for Ross Perot. (photos 1, 8 & 9) - The lobby/entry into the studios is designed like a train station (photo 5) - We have a large cafe where we host client lunches and clear the room out for parties (photo 6) - Lastly, there is the producers garden which is a big open room decorated like an italian garden where everyones desks are. The lack of cubes provides for a more fun work environment full of jokes and picking on eachother! (photo 7)

Nights and Weekend are full of this famous street...but only sometimes. Parking sucks and it gets old. But every now and then it is quite fun! Viva 6th street!:

Other Activities of Lindsay in Austin:
- Gateway Church - I love it there so much! I am envolved with a 20somethings group called Merge where there are fun people that do fun things. Everything from Karaoke, to dinners and lunches, and swing dancing or country dancing, Wednesday evening hang out at Gelato's, late nights of trivial pursuit, etc. They even are excited to experience Lindsay's themed parties! As soon as I get my apartment I am recycling the Toga theme since they did get to come. They are way excited!
- Graphic Design - I have been doing some freelance work which includes a postcard series featuring spoofs on classic movie posters for the AMS production group, the design and layout for a sermon series at church that will determine all of the set design and look and feel of the entire thing!, and the Wesley website which will be up in about 3 weeks...etc and some more small projects
- First Thursday - All the merchants on South Congress stay open really late and a bunch of individuals put up tents to sell things that they make in a very flea market type atmosphere. Its wonderfully fun! Its on the first Thursday of every month and if you are ever in town I would be glad to take you! This Uncommon Objects place is like a HUGE garage sale...I found this pair of glasses that were white and looked just like the new Willy Wonka! I would have gotten them, but they were $20 :(

That is all for now, more of the exciting new life later!

| LOTS of good news!
I have 2 job interviews on Feb 10. Real Job interviews...with companies in Austin. One is with LifeSize Communications as a marketing specialist and the other is with Sicola-Martin, an Advertising Agency. I AM SOOOO EXCITED!
Next, this last weekend was fantastic. I went to be a councelor at a MidWinter retreat for Methodist Youth Groups in the area. It was so great to work with the kids and get to know them! I really feel like God was moving all through the weekend and that the kids learned a lot! I will post photos very soon!

| Advertising AE: So I made Account Executive (AE) for my senior project advertising campaigns class. I am really excited! That means that out of a class of 30 I am one of the 5 leaders of the group projects. We had interviews to get AE and now the AEs interview the other students to get split into 5 grps of 6 to pull together an entire campaign all for the same client. In the end we present our campaign in a competition to pick a winner who's campaign gets used. This semester we are doing the Service Learning Program at Tech. Should be good. I know of 3 people I want in my group for sure, lets hope i get them!
Nursery Job: In other news i got a job! I work at the nursery at First United Methodist Church. At first i thought i was gonna hate it, but really I LOVE it! Today I had the older kids (4-9yrs old) all to myself and no plans for what I was supposed to do. So we watched some Scooby Doo and the rest of the movie they didnt finish from the night before. Then they got bored so I went to the arts and crafts room and found some supplies to teach them how to make an oragami pin-wheel/bird/boat. They loved it and had SO much fun! It was great! | | |
| So my first week back to school was wonderful! I am incredibly excited about my classes and everything else going on this semester!
I am gonna go out for Ad Exectutive for my senior advertising project! I am excited yet nervous...there will be 5 chosen out of about 30, so if I get it...it will mean that my prof thinks I am amoung the best in my class! No pressure or anything...
Evie & I have started putting together the Chili Cook-off as a fundraiser for the Costa Rica mission team. So far we have a lot of prizes to give away to winners, several chili enteries and many more interests in entering. Joel Filani is supposed to be one of the judges and I am still awaiting a response from Jarratt Hicks. Things are going quite well and I am getting SO excited for everything goin on with our Team!! ALSO, I made this ad for the cook-off and am gonna put it in my portfolio, I am really pleased with the way it came out:
